Benny & Flutter 2
Benny, a cheerful baby elephant with big, floppy ears and an even bigger, clumsy stride, wandered through a field covered in vibrant flowers. The sun shone brightly overhead, and the field buzzed with life. Benny loved the soft crunch of petals under his feet as he stomped along, not paying much attention to where he stepped.
Suddenly, a tiny voice squeaked, “Watch out!” Benny stopped just in time to see a delicate butterfly trembling beneath his massive foot. She had bright, shimmering wings and introduced herself as Flutter. “You almost squished me!” she said, her voice a mix of fear and frustration.
“Oh no! I’m so sorry,” Benny said, his big brown eyes wide with worry. “I didn’t mean to!”
Flutter fluttered up to Benny’s eye level. “You’re big and strong, Benny, but you must learn to be gentle. These flowers aren’t just beautiful; they’re important. They provide food for many of us, including me!”
Benny’s ears drooped. “I didn’t know flowers were so important,” he said softly.
Flutter landed gently on Benny’s trunk and explained, “The flowers give us nectar to eat and help the bees make honey. They’re a treasure we all share.”
Benny nodded, understanding now. “I’ll be more careful, Flutter. I want to help, too!”
As the day grew hotter, Benny noticed the flowers drooping under the sun’s intense heat. He had an idea. “Wait here!” he said, running to the nearby river. Benny filled his trunk with water and hurried back, spraying the flowers with a gentle shower. The flowers perked up, their colours even brighter under the glistening droplets.
Flutter clapped her wings in delight. “Benny, you’re amazing! You’ve not only saved the flowers but also made the field even more beautiful.”
Benny beamed. “From now on, I’ll treasure the flowers, just like you taught me. And whenever the flowers need water, I’ll be here to help.”
From that day on, Benny and Flutter became the best of friends. Together, they cared for the field, ensuring it stayed vibrant and full of life. Benny was no longer the clumsy baby elephant who trampled flowers but the gentle giant who cherished them.
And so, under the warm sun and among the blooming flowers, an unlikely but everlasting friendship blossomed between Benny and Flutter.
